      They've already spend 10 to 15 months in pre-trial detention, on charges of 'violent rebellion' and 'sedition' - antiquated concepts that don't exist elsewhere in Europe and which have been dismissed in Belgium and Germany against Carles Puigdemont. @omnium/1091227146083684352?s=19

        With zero possibility of a not guilty verdict from a politicalised Spanish judiciary, the trials and the eventually European appeals will shine a light on the democratic deficit in Spain. The EU cannot continue to look away.
