In 1984 the Spanish prime minister Gonzalez created a death squad that killed 27 people associated with ETA. The long-rumoured link has been confirmed by declassified @CIA documents today. It doesn't even make the main newspapers in Spain and absolutely nothing will happen.

That the sitting prime minister signed off on bombings and murder, most of it on the French side of the border, isn't exactly news here, I suppose. The dirty war was aimed at forcing France to cooperate with the Spanish fight against ETA, by murdering people in France.
