    Three years ago, after the self-determination referendum in Catalonia, I believed that the EU would insist upon dialogue and negotiation between the Catalan and Spanish governments. The EU provided no such facilitation, and has instead supported Spain's judicial aggression.

      The EU is a club; Spain is a member and Catalonia is not. There's no help coming from Europe. As many people have always maintained: "Sols el poble salva el poble" - only the people will save the people.
