    Everyone here is bilingual and their Spanish grades are better than most parts of Spain. This is an attempt to kill a minority language and it's attendant culture. It's the regime's attack on plurality, diversity, and an attempt to segregate Catalan society at a school level.

      The vehicular language in public schools is Catalan; this model is credited with reviving the language after it was banned under Franco. There's no practical advantage to forcing schools to offer Spanish, but it would drive down the number of Catalan speakers. Which is the point.
