    PSOE reminded everyone that @ahorapodemos did not support the suspension of the Catalan political prisoners from their seats in parliament. To be part of the Spanish gov., parties must also reject the right of Catalans to elect parliamentarians who espouse a different ideology. +

      In Spain's 'consolidated democracy' this is the extent of the ideological purity required. Podemos are the moderates, the social justice party, but they are perfectly willing to go along with this. There is no dialogue or political solution available for Catalonia inside Spain. +

        'Centrist' parties act like this, and adopt this baseline, as being soft on Catalanism is the ultimate crime in Spanish politics. Remember this is not about Catalan independence, this is implacable opposition to the very idea that Catalans have any right to decide for themselves.
